Lonely Worlds

from Demons by Nepenthe

/

about

When someone drowns, the process of asphyxia and resulting hypoxia is at first painful but turns to euphoria in the last seconds before loss of consciousness, and finally death. This song is a glimpse into what those elongated last seconds might feel like to a drowning victim.

lyrics

Lonely worlds
I'm floating in lonely worlds
And yet I find an aperture
Of light above me

Effervescence
I thought that I had learned my lessons
My breath always escapes me
Under the sea
Drowning

Euphoria
Am I this scenes Ophelia?
It wraps my brain in tingling warmth
And I'm transformed

I never dreamed
That drowning could be
Such a day dream
Admidst the sea bream

The darkness it grows
The water's enclosed me
That's it, I suppose
My heart beats so slow
